Description / Interpretation:

Artists: Eva Cockcroft, Eric Nieman, Jaime "Vyal" Reyes, Edwin Perez. Assistants: Eddie Reserdes, Fernando Barrios, Marcos Song, Edwin Argueta, Glen Wong, Carlos Ortiz, Mario Mena, and Students & Teachers of Belmont High School. Earth Memories presents an evolutionary timeline: the formation of the planets, water world, the age of reptiles, dinosaurs and the death of that era, the formation of mammals, the development of man from the cave artist to Mayan priests, and the present. The design was put together by a group of ten young graffiti writers, a recent art school graduate, and Cockcroft in a week-long marathon. The technique was brush painting with aerosol for finishing detail-especially in the section of planets, and for eyes, highlights, and accents. Sponsored and commissioned by ARTScorpsLA and Hollywood Beautification Team. Photo © Ian Robertson-Salt
