The Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles (MCLA) was created by a coalition of artists, public art advocates, city of Los Angeles and state of California public officials, and restoration specialists. MCLA built long-term programs to retain mural arts as a part of Los Angeles’ cultural legacy and establish murals as a significant part of our city’s cultural heritage. It advocates for the rights of both artists and public art, and works with artist to support the integrity of their work. MCLA promotes local artist and public murals in order to sustain Los Angeles as one of the great mural capitals in the United States.

Internship Opportunities

MCLA has been involved with the preservation of Los Angeles’ murals for over 20 years and is always looking for individuals who share our passion for public art. Ideal candidates would have previous experience in the arts, and would be interested in writing, archiving, blogging, social/community organizing, or working with video, to promo the values of MCLA.

Board Member/Advisory Board Member

Our Board of Directors is comprised of artists and public art advocates who share MCLA's passion of transforming Los Angeles communities through the preservation of public murals. The Board of Directors protects the rights of artists and public art in order to ensure that Los Angeles remains one of the mural capitals of the world.

Volunteers

Do you have a passion for public art in Los Angeles? Are you committed to community beautification and cultural conservation? Are you looking for new pursuits? Do you have a few hours to spare every week? If so, consider becoming a volunteer with the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles. As a MCLA volunteer, you will have the opportunity to assist with special events, support the preservation of public arts, and learn about the invaluable legacy of public arts in Los Angeles.
