(1904-1973): Born in New York City, he studied art in New York and Philedelphia before moving to Los Angeles in 1924. In 1930 Miller did a fresco in San Francisco after observing the work-in-progress of Mexican muralist José Clemente Orozco at Pomona College in Claremont. In the Treasury Department's 1939 national 48-State Competition, he won a commission to do a mural for the Island Pond, Vermont, post office. He did another post office mural in Goose Creek, Texas. During World War II he was Chief of the Combat Art Section of the Army Forces in the Pacific, drawing and painting battle scenes. After the war, he moved back to New York.
