Description / Interpretation:

In the first part of the 20th century, Covina was a mjor citrus-producing area.  but after WWII that changed, and pretty much all of the citrus groves have now been replaced by housing and business developments.  In this park, named Cougar Park after on e of the brand names of oranges packed in Covina, there are a series of permanet outdoor plaques with text and historical photos describing the history of the citrus industry in Covina.  The mural is part of the city's plan for this new park to bring some of ht beauty and charm of that era into the lives of people who visit the park.
