Description / Interpretation:

Cleon Peterson is an LA-based artist and graphic designer whose chaotic and violent paintings show clashing figures symbolizing a struggle between power and submission in the fluctuating architecture of contemporary society. His dystopian scenes evoke Thomas Hobbes’ Leviathan: an anxiety-riddled world, where violence is the status quo and only the strongest survive. An amazing feat of emotion given that the piece is just two colors.
