Description / Interpretation:

Painted in one weekend by community volunteers, this mural depicts elements of Temple City's past and present in a parade down Las Tunas Drive.  From its founding in 1923 to the current day, Temple City continues to be an inviting place to live, welcoming all to join in its rich community life. Art Mortimer has painted nearly 100 murals, including major public artworks in Long Beach, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and New York.  Considered one of the originators of the mural movement in Los Angeles, his work has been featured in numerous exhibitions and publications worldwide. Photo © Giselle Joyce B.
