Description / Interpretation: 

The themes of community service, social action, and education are emphasized. Among the Jewish women portrayed in the mural are feminist writer Betty Friedan, playwright Lillian Hellman, Artist Lee Krasner, U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer, NCJW founder Hannah Solomon, World War II resistance fighter Hannah Senesch, and anarchist Emma Goldman. Other personalities include Burmese political activist and 1991 Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi, United Farm Workers organizer Dolores Huerta, human rights activist and 1992 Nobel Peace Prize winner Rigoberta Menchu, and the late U.S. Congresswoman Barbara Jordan.
