Description / Interpretation: 

This site is where LES was born. The mural was created as a group, with participants including local gang members. It was a summer murals program.
CETA (a Jimmy Carter Program) and the Los Angeles Arts Project funded it.
Created without a plan, worked around theme. While working, he got to visit the homes a lot gang members, allowing the projected to become a form of mentoring.
