Description / Interpretation:
A flourishing desert scene with blossoming cacti. The text in the center of the mural reads: "In Memory of Russell Lorette." Russell Lorette was a photojournalist who died in April of 1999. Escamilla later expanded the sky upward through a grant, and painted the four sides of the electrical box in front of the mural. Photo © Ian Robertson-Salt
