Vista Robles National Charity League Mural Tour June 13th 2012
On June 13th, the Mural Conservancy of Los Angeles hosted a mural tour in the Downtown L.A. Arts District for the Vista Robles National Charity League. The National Charity League is a philanthropic organization committed to community service and whose mission is to foster mother-daughter relationships through leadership development and cultural experiences. After the tour, they were able to visit the studio of Kent Twitchell and learn more about the mural making process.

MCLA’s Executive Director was honored at City Hall June 13th 2012
Our Executive Director, Isabel Rojas-Williams, was honored by City of Los Angeles Board of Public Works, for her many contributions to the 2012 Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month. She was awarded with a certificate for her involvement and many years of volunteer service. Rojas-Williams works regularly with the Asian American Heritage Committee, as well as the Latino Heritage Committee and African American Committee.

Mural Tour for new MCLA Members July 30 2012
This month was the kickoff for MCLA’s membership tour for new and returning members. This tour was free to MCLA members, or came with a free membership if purchased with a mural tour ticket. The tour introduced the members to some of the newest public art available in Los Angeles. MCLA will be hosting numerous member tours in the future, so keep posted if you are interested in being involved.
