Born and raised in Cortland, New York, Miller (1882-1980) studied mural painting at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and then in France for three years under Jean Despujois, one of the foremost French muralists. She assisted him in enlarging the Bordeaux Tower mural that was exhibited at the Arts and Crafts Show in Paris in 1925. Later in her life she became interested in lapidary work, using stones from local beaches. She also did a mural for New York's Jamaica Long Island High School.
