(born 1968): Born and raised in Ohio, Shloss and his family moved to southern California in about 1986. He studied for two years at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa before transferring to California State University, Long Beach, where he was a printmaking major. In June 1992, he became assistant to the director of Long Beach's Summer Youth Employment Training Program, Mural Arts.
