Born in San Diego, Mendoza (born 1961) grew up in southern California and on the East Coast. He received a B.F.A. in painting from Otis/Parsons School of Art in 1987. Between 1988 and 1990 he and a partner operated their own design company. Mendoza has done several local interior residential and commercial murals. (Robin K.
