John Wehrle has created murals in California, Illinois and on ships on France and Japan. In 1966, he was sent to Vietnam as part of the U.S Army artist team to document the war. He has taught mostly in northern California, at the California College of Arts and Crafts, in Oakland and the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco.
