Master of the art of Fresco painting. He established a “Nationwide Fresco Painting Workshop Program” in the fall of 1996 as a systematic tutorial on the technique of fresco painting. Since then the program has grown to be the only year-around Fresco School in the Country. Ilia is the author of “Buon Fresco Foundations” DVD tutorials. He has been widely exhibited in Russia, Europe, and the United States. One of his most noteable commisions was the design and creation of the interior decor of the 76th Annual Academy Awards Governor’s Ball. The entire interior (over 27,000 sq. feet) of the Trompe L’oel Frescoes was hand painted. In addition his work has graced the 9th Annual SAG Awards Governor’s Ball, 73rd Academy Awards Governor’s Ball, 50th Annual Emmy Awards, 11th Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards to name a few.
